This is the last hold out of a real NJ diner! Great food, good prices, great service. The food is well made, never burnt.
Currently they are updating inside and out to bring it to a more modern. -

Andover Diner is an okay spot for grabbing a quick and unimpressive meal. While in the area a few of us stopped in for Spaghetti and Meatballs, Beef Goulash, and Chicken Francaise over Rice. Pretty standard fare for a Jersey Diner to prepare and all of our soups and entrees came out just okay. It's a bit below your typical kind of Diner, it offers nothing special and no one really cares if you're happy with your meal or not.
I noticed it was pretty empty around dinner time when we arrived and after we tasted the food we realized why that was. It's just not that good. I felt that the Beef Goulash which I ordered tasted off. I'm used to this dish with a brown sauce, so when it arrived in a tomato sauce I was a bit surprised. The sauce, to me tasted like it might have been hanging around a bit too long. The Meat was not slow cooked at all and was extremely tough. The other two meals that we ordered were also 'not winners' and so the agreement was made that we definitely don't need to make a return visit here anytime soon. -

Not good. I am not sure what happened at this Diner it is now called the Route 206 Diner. We were starving and this was going to be dinner for us because we were moving all day and we were exhausted. I ordered a simple grilled chicken caesar salad and my boyfriend ordered a wrap. I'm not a cook and I could have done a better job on my salad. There was little thought put into it the croutons that were placed on a salad were definitely slices of bread that were put in the oven. When I saw the $26 bill for these two items which also included a glass of soda I was really disappointed. That will be the last time I give them my money. They really need to invest in a better cook or somebody who gives a crap about how that place is run. If I could give this no stars I would.

I am giving this a 2 because we stopped by at 9:30 in the morning, the door was open and as we entered we were told that they weren't open yet. They were still waiting for employees to come in. I can honestly say I've never seen or heard of a diner like this. I have been here in the past and the food was excellent and it didn't matter what time of day you were there. Back then it had plenty of people to prepare food and a good waitressing staff.
Today they didn't seem to have either so I couldn't even comment on the food. While I would be tempted to come back at another time I'm going to wait and make sure that they are open first and have their problems worked out.
